Preschool Application Information
The Willington Center School Preschool Program is full for the 2011-12 school year.
If you have concerns about your child's development, please email Nancy Pettitt or leave a message at Center School at 860 429-9367. If you want to add your child's name to the waiting list for this year, leave the information with the school secretary. We have a long waiting list for both 3 and 4 year olds.
We are now accepting applications for the 2012-2013 school year. The program is designed to provide services to children with special needs within an inclusive setting. Age appropriate peers are an important component of the preschool program. Slots will be available for both morning and afternoon sessions. Next year the afternoon and morning sessions will probably be 4 days a week.
The selection of peers is made by program staff and administrators, based upon previously determined criteria. If there are more applications than available slots, a lottery process will be used. Families who feel their child’s entrance into school would be enhanced by a preschool experience are encouraged to apply.
Eligible children must be three years of age by 12/31/2012 and cannot turn five before 1/01/2013.
You can get an application by clicking on this link and printing it out or calling Center School and asking that an application be mailed to you. Applications are due by May 4, 2012. Developmental screenings will be conducted for applicants not previously screened. Applicants will be notified by May 25, 2012 of their status.
Please note: Peer slots for the Center School Preschool are limited. If you want to be assured that your child can attend preschool next year, please enroll them in another preschool or nursery school program in addition to filling out the attached application.
